50th Annual Bud Light Cowboy Downhill
Participant Information
Eligibility for the Cowboy Downhill
- Open to PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) or PBR (Professional Bull Riders) members entered at the 2025 Denver Stock Show Rodeo.
- Current Top 40 PBR members and PRCA World Champions are eligible to register.
- State Rodeo Queens attending the Denver Stock Show may also compete.
SADDLE UP FOR THE SHOWDOWN- Race Details
Date/Location:
- Monday, January 20, 2025, 1:00 PM on Stampede Trail at the base of Steamboat Ski Resort.
Entry Fee:
- $125 (includes the following):
- Two nights lodging (Sunday, January 19, and Monday, January 20, 2025, only).
- Two-day lift ticket (valid January 19–21, 2025).
- Two-day ski or snowboard rental package.
- Entry into the Cowboy Downhill race.
- Special edition Cowboy Downhill jacket.
- One VIP Pass for all events.
Racin’ Like a True Cowboy:
- Timed Event: Cowboys and Cowgirls will ski down a dual slalom course, go over a jump, lasso a lady, saddle a horse, and cross the finish line.
- Stampede Event: A mass start where the first cowboy to the bottom wins.
- All participants must wear chaps and cowboy hats during the race.
On Site Registration & Check In:
- Sunday, January 19, 2025: 9:00 AM – 5:00PM at Gravity Haus, 2304 Après Ski Way.
- Monday, January 20, 2025: 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM (day of race) at Gravity Haus.
What's in your Saddlebag: Additional Details
Lift Tickets and Rentals:
- Participants will receive a two-day lift ticket and a ski or snowboard rental voucher during registration. Rentals can be picked up at Steamboat Ski & Sport.
Lodging:
- Lodging is provided at Gravity Haus for the nights of January 19 and January 20, 2025.
- Rooms are assigned during registration, and participants must identify themselves as part of the Cowboy Downhill. A credit card imprint for incidentals is required at check-in.
Bring a Sidekick: Guest Packages
Special rates are available for a cowboy’s guest at registration who would like to purchase additional lift tickets, rentals and lodging. LIMIT OF 1 GUEST PER PARTICIPANT
- Lodging: $100 (two nights).
- Rentals: $30 per day.
- Lift Tickets: $60 per day.
- VIP Pass: $50 (includes lunch, dinner, and free Bud Light).

Sunday, January 19, 2025
- 9:00 AM – 5:00PM Registration (Gravity Haus).
- 5:30 PM – 6:00 PM: 50th Anniversary Cowboy Downhill Drone Show.
- 6:30 PM – 10:30 PM: Cowboy Welcome Party (Gravity Haus).
Monday, January 20, 2025
- 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM: Race-day registration (Gravity Haus).
- 11:00 AM – 12:45 PM: Pre-race Cowboy/VIP BBQ (Timber & Torch Deck).
- 12:45 PM: Competitors head to the start line.
- 1:00pm
- Stampede Event: Mass start—first cowboy to the bottom wins.
- Timed Event Slalom: Ski down a dual slalom course, go over a jump, lasso a lady, saddle a horse, and cross the finish line.
- Immediately Following the Race: Free Bud Light Concert at Gondola Square.
- 6:30 PM: Awards Banquet at the top of the gondola.
Boot Scootin' Celebration: Concert and Awards
- A Free Bud Light Cowboy Downhill concert will begin after the race in Gondola Square. Complimentary Bud Light and a cash bar will be available in the Cowboy VIP section
- Awards will be presented during the banquet at the top of the gondola.
