The Yampa Valley Community Foundation connects people who care with causes that matter. Through three dedicated charitable funds, the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp. helps support the current and future needs of the Yampa Valley through gifts and grants. Together, a healthy and vital community is built through the power of philanthropy.

Ski Corp. Charitable Fund

Each year the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp. Charitable Fund awards special need based grants that are used solely for projects that benefit general charitable purposes or support nonprofit organizations in special need.

Ski Corp. Environmental Fund
Steamboat is one of a handful of resorts to establish a significant granting program based on environmental needs. Since its inaugural year in 2004, more than 60 projects have been granted more than $330,000, representing a variety of nonprofit organizations across the Yampa Valley. In addition, the fund is supported with donations from Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp. employees, special sales of chairs from removed lifts and through YVCF Passport Club memberships.

Ski Corp. Scholarship Fund
The resort established an educational scholarship program during the 1996/97 season. The scholarships are based on essay, academic achievement and school involvement, financial need and community service. The program awards students grants to pursue higher education. Since the program’s inception, more than 200 graduates have benefited from more than $550,000 in scholarship funds.

SKI CORP. DEI SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The resort established a diversity, equity, and inclusion scholarship to encourage Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) students to pursue higher education and careers in the ski resort industry and to foster increased diversity in the industry’s workforce. The scholarships are based on essay, academic achievement and school involvement, financial need and community service, and are eligible for renewal for up to 4 years.
