Hazie Werner Award

Hazie Werner, Steamboat Ski Resort's Matriarch, was a life-long Steamboat Springs local and mother to Buddy, Skeeter, and Bugs. She was known for her welcoming spirit and dedication to the betterment of the Steamboat Springs Community. Each year, Steamboat Ski Resort honors a local female community member who represents Hazie Werner’s legacy through volunteer work, community commitment, and support of local organizations and efforts. Hazie was known in the Yampa Valley for her inspirational dedication, gracious and caring philosophy of giving, and tireless commitment to making Steamboat the unique, supportive town it is today.

Honoree shall have a significant Steamboat connection, by having been a native-born or longtime resident and/or making a noteworthy (non-monetary) contribution to the life of the community.

The honoree shall have exhibited in her life, the quality and spirit best exemplified by Hazie Werner. Kind, Big Heart, Thoughtful, Unassuming, Strong, Modest, Altruistic.
